How To Add To Outline?
Google Docs outlined is a very helpful tool for understanding complex documents. By using this tool we can know how many headings we insert and where to insert more headings. For your better understanding, I will show you with the help of screenshots. For this purpose, I am using a lengthy document of Google Docs.

Open Google Docs >> View >> Show document out line.

When google docs out line open you will be seen how many heading we use in this document. when you click on these headings your screen upper this heading in front of you.
