How to Alphabetize In Google Docs [Quick, Easy & Simple]
When things are organized, they are much easier to find which results in you saving some valuable time. Organizing also saves a lot of the stress that comes with not being able to see what you need when you are in a hurry.
These days many people have thousands of files on their computer or in a digital storage program. Imagine trying to find one file among thousands. Now imagine if those files are not organized. It’s a cause for major frustration. Learn how you can alphabetize your documents in Google Docs.
How to Alphabetize Your Files in Google Docs
This is going to seem obvious, but sometimes even these apparent things get past us. Make sure you’ve signed in to your account and the Dashboard and either open a new or already existing document.
Click on the “Add-ons” option at the top followed by the “Get add-ons” option. In the search box type in “Sorted Paragraphs” and click on the blue Free button. The add-on will ask you for permission to view and manage your documents, which is a must, naturally.
The add-on (once installed) will tell you what you need to do to alphabetize your document such as click Add-ons -> Sorted Paragraphs -> Select order you want. Don’t worry about being bombarded with options since there are only two to choose from: Sort A-Z and Sort Z-A.
To put this add-on to work, highlight whatever text you want to put in alphabetical order. Click on the add-ons button followed by the Sorted Paragraphs options. A small pop-up window will appear with the options to either sort them in alphabetical order or reverse.
If you ever want to remove the add-on for some reason, just go to Add-ons and click on manage add-ons. Select the green Manage button, and the last option on the list will be to remove it.
How to Alphabetize Your Google Spreadsheet Documents
With Google Spreadsheets, you won’t need an add-on to alphabetize your documents. It already has a built-in feature that does that for you. This is a real relief if you already have way too many add-ons already.
Highlight the column you want to have in alphabetical order and click on the “Data” option at the top. Look for the option that says “Sort Range” and a small pop-up window will appear. In that window, you’ll have options to either sort your documents in alphabetical order or in reverse.
You can even alphabetize multiple columns simultaneously to save yourself some valuable time. Drag and select the columns in question and click on the Data option again followed by the “Sorted By” option.
At the top you’ll see the columns you selected; make sure you didn’t pick an extra column. Click on the “Add another sort column” option, and choose whether you want to sort that column in alphabetical order or reverse. When you think you’ve covered all the columns you want, click on the blue Sort button.
Conclusion
Keeping things organized is always the best way, but it’s something you may not end up doing until it’s absolutely necessary. If you ever need to order your file content in alphabetical order, now you know-how. Do you find this option useful? Leave a comment and let us know.

How to Unsend or Recall an Email in Gmail
- It is not unusual to click on the send button in Gmail, then realize you want to recall the message.
- Gmail offers a feature called “Gmail Undo Send” which allows you to undo your send email action within 30 seconds.
- With the recently updated Gmail App, now you can use Undo Send on your mobile device too
- I show you how to setup undo send to recall a message within 30 seconds AND a way around to undo send Gmail after 30 seconds.
Go to Gmail Setting
- Once you're logged in, click on the Settings icon on the top-right corner of the page.
- Then click on the 'Settings' option from the drop-down list of items.
Enable 'Undo Send'
- Enable undo send by checking the box if it's not. then choose the cancellation period from 5, 10, 20, or 30 seconds.
- Side note: The way 'Undo send' works is not by sending the message to your recipient then withdrawing it. No, it basically delays the sending of the message.
- After choosing the cancellation period, scroll down, and click save.
Undoing Send
- Now when you compose and send a new message, you are able to undo the send action before the seconds are chosen in the previous step expire.
- So now when you get a second thought about that email you were about to send, you can quickly stop it from going even after clicking the send button.
How about more than 30 seconds?
- Sometimes you're sending something confidential and maybe would want your recipient to access it for hours or days after which they shouldn't.
- There is no way to do this directly in Gmail however, we can still achieve this with Google Docs.
Type message in Google Docs
- Use Google Docs to type your message instead of typing it directly in the compose form.
- Remember you can as well use Google sheet, slides, whatever suits your purpose.
Go to 'Share'
- Go to 'File' then click on 'Share' option.
iPhone Flashlight Not Working? Try These Fixes
The iPhone has a flashlight that comes in handy when you need a quick and convenient light source, although it can sometimes fail to work. If your iPhone's flashlight icon is greyed out and inaccessible, or the flashlight does not work, there are a few things you can try to get it working again.
How to Fix iPhone Flashlight Not Working
There are several reasons why the iPhone flashlight function may not be working. Usually, a software bug or glitch causes the feature to malfunction. Other times the exact cause only reveals itself with the corresponding fix.
Follow these steps in the order listed to troubleshoot an iPhone flashlight that's not working.
Close the Camera app. Having the Camera app may create a conflict between the camera's flash and the flashlight, since these both use the same bulb and, therefore, cannot be used at the same time.
Restart the iPhone. Many software problems and bugs can be fixed by simply restarting the device. This effectively resets some of the temporary settings that cause apps and features to malfunction.
Perform a hard reset. A basic restart sometimes isn't enough to fix a problem. In some cases, you may need to do what's known as a hard reset, which is essentially a more powerful reset.
Reset the iPhone settings. This process is not as dramatic as it sounds, as it doesn't erase your personal data or apps. Rather, it resets the iPhone to its default settings, something which may get the flashlight icon (and the flashlight) working again.
Restore the iPhone to a previous backup. Restoring an iPhone from a backup is a relatively easy way to repair lost or corrupted data, which may be the reason the flashlight feature is not working.
Restore the iPhone to factory settings. This is a more extreme, time-consuming solution that should resolve a faulty flashlight feature. If not, you are almost certainly dealing with a hardware problem.
What to Do if the iPhone Flashlight Isn't Working
Some users may find that the flashlight does not turn on, even when its button is lit up as normal. This is a hardware problem, so you need to contact Apple or take the phone to a licensed repair outlet. If your iPhone is still under warranty, you should be able to have it repaired for free.
